Code of Ethics
The Code of Ethics for Numerologists is based on the recognition that numerology is a profession practised by
individuals who
– have specialised knowledge of numerology;
– practise numerology.
Knowledge of numerology means an in-depth understanding of the meaning of numbers, the use of specific calculation methods, and the ability to apply them to the study of personality traits and the prediction of events.
Knowledge of numerology is demonstrated through specific professional work and consulting practice, while its level is determined by certificates issued by the Latvian Association of
Numerologists.
The Latvian Association of Numerologists calls on the media, internet portals and users to use only numerologists' forecasts with confirmed authorship. Numerologists sign their own names, thereby guaranteeing quality.
The provisions of the Code of Ethics for Numerologists apply to all numerologists practising in Latvia. It establishes the fundamental ethical principles to be observed by all numerologists involved in numerological practice in Latvia.
Numerologists familiarise themselves with the Code of Ethics and confirm with their signatures that they agree with and will comply with its provisions.
The Code of Ethics includes recommended standards of conduct for all numerologists in their daily work with people — colleagues, employers, clients and society as a whole. The Code is used to discuss ethical issues and seek specific solutions within Latvia's numerological community. Numerologists have a duty to comply with professional ethical standards and the laws of the Republic of
Latvia. The primary purpose of the Code of Ethics for Numerologists is to
emphasise the importance and quality of the numerologist's profession.
1. Fundamental ethical
principles for numerologists
1.1. Independence.
Numerologists must be fully independent and free from any influence, particularly that arising from their personal interests or any form of pressure.
1.2. Trust and personal integrity.
A numerologist's personal dignity and integrity are essential professional requirements for a relationship with the client based on trust.
Numerologists recognise that each person's path of development is individual and therefore cannot be compared with another numerologist's professional level.
1.3. Confidentiality.
Numerologists must not disclose to third parties any information obtained while providing numerological services.
2. Relations with clients
2.1. When working with a client, numerologists
must not deliberately harm the client's interests through their actions. Numerologists base their judgements and conclusions about an individual's character, professional opportunities, etc. solely on the matrix and data compiled using recognised numerological methods. Numerologists must inform the client if any other consulting methods are used during the consultation. Numerologists respect each person's right to self-realisation insofar as it does not interfere with the exercise of other people's rights.
2.2. Numerologists do not impose their opinions on clients.
The primary purpose of a numerological consultation is to help individuals understand themselves and those close to them, and choose their direction in life and their career.
2.3. Numerologists may decline to work with a client at any time before starting the work, or discontinue it by agreement with the client while the work is in progress.
2.4. Numerologists are not responsible for an individual's personal choices and actions following a consultation.
3. Accepting an assignment
3.1. Numerologists must not undertake work if they lack competence in the specific client's issue and cannot accurately perform their professional duties.
3.2. Numerologists must not allow others to use their professional practice or name.
4. Personal
advertising
4.1. Numerologists must not advertise themselves or offer assistance beyond their capabilities and level of knowledge.
4.2. The content of a numerologist's advertising must not claim superiority over other colleagues.
4.3. No one may include a numerologist's name in advertising or any other announcements without their consent.
4.4. For advertising purposes, numerologists must not combine fields unrelated to numerology in a single advertisement (except astrology, as these fields share a common code in the classification of occupations).
5. Numerologists' mutual relations
5.1. Relationships between numerologists are based on trust and cooperation. Numerologists must treat their professional
colleagues with respect, courtesy and honesty. When speaking with other colleagues' clients or other people, numerologists must refrain from negative or disparaging assessments of their colleagues' work. Numerologists acknowledge differences in the opinions and practices of colleagues and other specialists, but express criticism constructively.
5.2. Numerologists share their experience and knowledge with colleagues, promoting professional development.
5.3. Numerologists demonstrate loyalty to their professional organisation and its operating principles.
6. Numerologists and the media
6.1. Numerologists refrain from actions that could adversely affect the reputation of the numerologist's profession.
6.2. Numerologists communicate constructive information in the media without creating unwanted hype or disparaging others. Dramatising the information provided is prohibited.
6.3. All information communicated must have a numerological basis. Any negative public assessment must be accompanied by a harmonious solution.
7. Violations of the Code of Ethics
7.1. Violations of the Code of Ethics are reviewed by the Ethics Committee.
